If you’re staying in or around Yallingup, you’d be mad not to check out some world-class local wineries. A Yallingup wine tour is a superb option if you’re looking for safe and stress-free transport around town, without the hassle of nominating a designated driver. You may even want to stop at a local brewery or distillery between wineries.
With so many amazing destinations within the South-West, you’ll probably want to expand your horizons and hit up some wineries or breweries outside of Yallingup. However, here are some of the best locations to visit within the Yallingup area –
We believe Aravina Estate is a must if you’re participating in a Yallingup wine tour. The property was originally established in 1986 under the name “Amberley Estate” and then taken over in 2010 by a Perth businessman who rebranded to “Aravina Estate”.
Nestled amongst the scenic surrounds of far-reaching vineyards across rolling hills, combined with bushland and stunning manicured gardens, this 180-acre property is one of the finest wine producers in the Margaret River region. The estate contains 64 acres of vineyard with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon and Chenin Blanc plantings.
Aside from some superb beer and wine tasting, the property also includes –
À La Carte Restaurant
What’s a Yallingup wine tour without a great feed between drinks? With a focus on fine local ingredients, the restaurant showcases some of the best meat, seafood, cheese, fruit and vegetables the region has to offer, in a range of creative and seasonal dishes. They even have a kitchen garden on the property, which supplies the restaurant with organic seasonal fruit and vegetables. Open Wednesday to Sunday, and bookings are essential.
Riviera / Pizza Bar
Offering gourmet Italian-style pizzas created using local ingredients, which you can enjoy in a casual dining environment. Open 7 days a week, and no bookings are required, unless in a group of more than 20 people.
WA Surf Gallery
The WA Surf Gallery is a recent addition to Aravina Estate and is the first and only collection of surfing memorabilia in Western Australia. See some rare and never-before-seen memorabilia close-up and iconic surfing photos and boards dating back to the 50s. Open 7 days from 11 am to 5 pm.
The Sportscar Gallery boasts a variety of vintage racing cars, Aussie muscle cars and motorcycles on display. The collection is ever-changing, so if you’ve seen it, you’ll likely come across a few new vehicles. Also, open 7 days from 11 am to 5 pm.
So, if you want to add a class touch to your Yallingup wine tours, make sure you include a stop-off at Aravina Estate.
Swings & Roundabouts
Swings & Roundabouts is another popular stop-off on our Yallingup wine tours. It offers a more rustic and relaxed environment than Aravina, as a comfortable and versatile cellar door on Caves Road.
Here you’ll find a cosy indoor area including open fires, which is ideal for Winter, matched by a massive lawn area for Summer that boasts some of the best views in Margaret River.
At Swings & Roundabouts, you can treat yourself to some Mediterranean-style wine that reflects the Northern Margaret River region and is ideal for sharing with friends and family.
The restaurant offers a simple, rustic approach focusing on delicious flavours and local produce.
Brewery Options on Yallingup Wine Tours
Yallingup is also home to some popular craft breweries that offer some epic beer tasting and relaxed dining options –
Beerfarm is located in Metricup, approximately 20 minutes from Yallingup town. In addition to recently being awarded the number 1 brewpub in WA, the Beerfarm India Pale Ale was also awarded the gold medal at the Australian International Beer Awards of 2017.
Wild Hop Brewery
Wild Hop Brewery combines modern facilities with a casual atmosphere. The venue is kid and dog friendly and on the family’s property. Because they elected not to package their beers, they batch brew. Meaning that the list of brews on tap is constantly changing and rotating. On any given day, you may find anything from a plumb kettle sour right through to a cider.

“Awesome host Jye & his friendly fur baby! My family and I had a great time touring the Yallingup region. Jye was able to share knowledge of each destination and region, aswell as being super laid back and easy to speak too. We felt comfortable and entertained! We also enjoyed a singalong on the way home. Jye was very accommodating and went to the extra effort in capturing some great memories for us on video. Next time we need a tour down south, I’ll be calling Jye!”
